What Is Domain Rating (DR)?
Domain Rating, commonly abbreviated DR, is an Ahrefs metric that estimates the relative strength of a website's backlink profile on a 0–100 scale. Link builders often use it as a filter because it is convenient, but DR does not measure editorial quality, relevance, traffic, or the value of a specific page.
What DR can tell you
It can be a useful relative signal about backlink-profile strength within the Ahrefs ecosystem.
What it cannot tell you
It does not prove that a site has real readers, ranks for relevant queries, publishes strong content, or is a safe placement.
Why DR can mislead
Metrics can be influenced by the composition of a domain's backlink profile and can change as tools recrawl the web.
Better use
Use DR to narrow a large candidate set, then review topical relevance, traffic, content, outbound links, and the actual placement opportunity.
