How to Evaluate a Website for Guest Posting

Do not evaluate a guest-post site from one metric. A useful review combines topical relevance, actual content, traffic history, link behavior, audience evidence, and the exact page you expect to receive.

Topical relevance

Look for sustained coverage of your subject, not one category added to an everything-blog.

Traffic quality

Review direction and distribution. Stable topical traffic is more informative than one headline estimate.

Editorial quality

Read multiple recent posts. Check originality, useful structure, authorship, sourcing, and whether the site appears maintained.

Outbound-link behavior

Watch for unrelated commercial anchors, huge numbers of sponsored posts, and pages that exist mainly to sell links.

Placement fit

Ask whether your proposed article and destination link would make sense to a reader of that publication.
