DR vs DA: What Is the Difference?

DR and DA come from different SEO tool providers and use different models. Ahrefs Domain Rating focuses on backlink-profile strength, while Moz Domain Authority is a predictive ranking-strength metric. They should not be treated as interchangeable measurements or direct Google scores.

Different providers

DR is from Ahrefs; DA is from Moz. Each uses its own data and calculation.

Different values are normal

A site can have a noticeably different DR and DA because the metrics are built differently.

Neither is a Google metric

Google does not use DR or DA as public ranking scores. They are third-party tools for analysis.

Guest-post use

Use them as coarse screening aids. A relevant, healthy site with a modest metric can be a better fit than an irrelevant site with a larger number.
